[RECAP] FUTURE CAREER FOR YOUNG TALENTS WORKSHOP

With the hope of bringing practical values to young Vietnamese talents, and assisting the development of human resources for the Vietnamese economy, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City – International School of Business (UEH-ISB) and Western Sydney University (WSU) have organized MBA Talent Competition 2018. This initiative has become more exciting with the participation of young employees throughout Vietnam and our industry partners from multinational companies.

As a side event of the MBA Talent competition, on September 09th 2018, UEH-ISB and WSU organized the FUTURE CAREER FOR YOUNG TALENTS workshop. The sharing of Human Resources experts from leading multinational companies has brought more value to the contestants by providing them with insight into the current job market in Vietnam and some advice on their career development.

Human Resources Manager at Deloitte Vietnam, Mr.Phan Huynh Tuan Anh has provided useful and comprehensive information about current trends of the Vietnamese job market and the quality of successful young employees. Mr. Tuan Anh surprised the participants by revealing his job 15 years ago as an interpreter and shared the way he defined his career path.
The next topic of the workshop is talking about Career development and suggested competencies for young employees with the sharing of Mr. Johnny Park – Head of Human Resources of Hong Leong Bank Vietnam. With over 15 years of experience in human resources in Vietnam and abroad, Mr. Park has brought the participants multi-dimensional information not only in Vietnam but also globally.

With his youthful style, Mr. Truong Cong Trung, a Human Resources Manager in Unilever Vietnam, shared about higher education support for young talents’ future career.
 
The panel discussion - a most interactive part of the workshop - was run with a range of interesting questions for speakers about competitiveness in work; how to develop knowledge in parallel with achieving promotion in a career; the importance of higher degrees or professional certificates when recruiting,…
